Session 8 (Optional): Myoushinji Zen Meditation Experience

Are you looking to unlock the full potential of your mind, body, and spirit? Then look no further than Zazen, the ancient practice of seated meditation that has gained worldwide attention for its numerous benefits to physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

But Zazen is more than just a wellness trend or a way to alleviate stress and anxiety. At its core, Zazen is a spiritual practice that aims to experience moments, periods, and ultimately a life of enlightenment by investigating and clarifying the self and resolving the question of birth and death, with the hope to help others to do the same.

The word Zazen literally means "seated meditation," but it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be seated doing nothing else, to practice it. In fact, the Sixth Patriarch, Huineng, described Zazen as being free of all hindrances and undisturbed in mind, regardless of whether the circumstances are good or bad. Zazen is about maintaining a meditative mind throughout all of one's daily activities.

However, the seated posture is an easy and very effective way to learn to deepen the meditative state. It allows the body to be still and relaxed while the mind becomes tranquil and settled. Through the regulation of breath and relaxed, open contemplation, one can attain a state of union between the body and mind and experience their original nature free of discriminatory thoughts.

Zazen is not just for monks or experienced practitioners. Anyone can benefit no matter their age or experience level. And with its numerous benefits to physical health, mental function, and emotional well-being, it's no wonder that more and more people are turning to Zazen as a way to improve their overall quality of life.

If you're interested in experiencing the transformative power of Zazen for yourself, consider signing up for a Zazen retreat or workshop. You'll receive expert guidance from experienced practitioners and have the opportunity to deepen your practice in a supportive and immersive environment. Don't wait any longer to unlock your full potential - try Zazen with us!

Included with the unique experience in zazen meditation practice, our optional Session 8 will feature an address by author and acclaimed ambassador of Zen and Buddhism, Mr. Matsuyama Daiko. As the deputy priest of Taizoin Temple in Kyoto, Mr. Matsuyama has dedicated his life to Zen Buddhism and sharing its teachings with the world. He has been a TedX speaker, and as a young representative of the Zen Sect in Japan, Matsuyama has interacted with many religious leaders, such as having an audience with the Roman Catholic Pope and conversing with the 14th Dalai Lama.

Mr. Matsuyama's message is not limited to Zen Buddhism. As an author, his book "Forget What's Important First: 30 Zen Teachings for the Wavering Soul" offers Zen wisdom for people of all backgrounds and beliefs seeking clarity and direction in their lives.

At the Zazen experience, participants will have the incredible opportunity to hear from Mr. Matsuyama himself and learn from his knowledge and experience. His keynote speech promises to be a truly inspiring and thought-provoking experience that will leave participants feeling motivated and enlightened. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn from an authority Buddhist wisdom and ambassador of Zen practice to the world.
